Focus · Luke 8:1–3; John 20:11–18

Mary followed Jesus after healing and told the disciples she had seen Him risen.

A summary of the passage, not a Bible quotation.
01 · In its setting

What was happening?

Luke names Mary Magdalene among women who accompanied and supported Jesus, saying seven demons had gone out from her. John places her at the empty tomb.

02 · Read carefully

What does the text show?

The Gospels do not identify her as a prostitute. In John, Jesus sends her with news of His resurrection; her testimony begins with His action, not a claim about her former occupation.

03 · Bring it into life

Consider your response

Let a person’s witness be heard on the terms Scripture gives it.

For prayer or conversation

Reflect together

  1. What do the Gospels actually say about Mary?
  2. What message did Jesus ask her to carry?
